This class follows a Charlotte Mason-style approach, inviting children into a living, breathing experience of science through hands-on exploration, observation, and rich, engaging books. Each lesson is designed to spark curiosity, nurture wonder, and help children delight in the world God has made.

Throughout the year, we will journey through two exciting areas of study:

First Semester: The Universe and Beyond We will look up in awe as we explore the wonders of space—planets, stars, the moon, and the vast universe. Through living books, simple experiments, and observation, students will begin to understand the beauty, order, and design of the heavens.

Second Semester: The Animal Kingdom We will turn our attention to the incredible world of animals, learning about a variety of creatures and their unique characteristics, habitats, and behaviors. From tiny insects to large mammals, students will discover how animals live, grow, and interact within God’s creation.

Each class will be rich with meaningful experiences that encourage children to slow down, observe closely, and engage deeply.

What to Expect:

• Nature observation and outdoor exploration

• Hands-on experiments and activities

• Living book read-alouds and narration

• Gentle introduction to scientific concepts

• Poetry and reflective learning

• Nature journaling

• A faith-based perspective that points children to the beauty and order of creation

This class is perfect for families who want to cultivate curiosity, encourage careful observation, and build a strong foundation in science in a joyful, meaningful way.

Bricks & Beyond: A LEGO Creativity & Public Speaking Adventure

In this hands-on course, students will engage in weekly LEGO builds designed to ignite creativity, foster critical thinking, and boost confidence. Each week, they will receive an inspiring task- a spark of imagination and are encouraged to complete their masterpieces using their own unique vision. With minimal guidelines and creative freedom, they learn to solve problems and innovate in fun ways.

Students will present their finished project to the class. By describing their design process, creative choices, and the story behind their build, they practice public speaking (and don’t even know it!) in a supportive environment, an essential skill. All while having fun!

Join Mrs. Jen for a Five in a Row Adventure!

Step into the pages of a story and watch learning come to life! In this fun and engaging Five in a Row class, we use timeless picture books as the heart of everything we do, turning each story into a week full of hands-on learning and creativity.

Each week, we dive into a beautifully written story and then bring it to life through simple, meaningful activities that connect to language arts, math, science, art, and more. Learning feels natural, exciting, and something kids genuinely look forward to. Expect laughter, creativity, and just the right amount of mess as we explore each story together.

What to Expect:

• Great Books at the Center We read rich, engaging picture books that spark imagination and meaningful conversation.

• Hands-On Fun From simple science experiments to creative projects, kids get to jump in and experience what they’re learning.

• Playful Math & Language Math and language come alive through games, discussion, and story connections.

• Creative, Sometimes Messy Art Fun projects inspired by our stories. The kind you’re glad we’re doing in class and not at your kitchen table.

• Story-Based Learning Across Subjects Each book naturally opens the door to science, history, geography, and more without feeling forced or overwhelming.

• Faith-Filled Moments We gently weave in truth and encouragement as we learn and grow together.

Come read, create, explore, and enjoy the kind of learning that sticks because it’s connected to a great story!
